That's the idea behind the Coastal Collective, our rotating in-house art series spotlighting the painters, photographers, and makers who call this stretch of shoreline home. Each month we turn our walls over to a new local artist, giving their work a real audience over green juice and salt air, and giving our community something fresh to look at while they refuel. August’s Artist: Tina Amico Gargiulo
Tina Amico Gargiulo is a New York–based artist, illustrator, and interior designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong passion for fashion, movement, and storytelling. After studying Fashion Illustration and Life Drawing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she built a successful career creating artwork and experiential illustrations for renowned fashion and beauty brands, including Chanel, Ralph Lauren, and Dior.
In 2020, Tina founded Studio Amico, bringing her artistic perspective into the world of interior design. Alongside her design work, she continues to paint expressive portraits and fine art, further refining her craft through studies at the Art Students League of New York.
Today, Tina's work spans fashion illustration, interiors, and portraiture, blending elegance, emotion, and a distinctly New York sensibility. Her paintings capture movement, personality, and timeless style, creating pieces that feel both sophisticated and deeply personal.
July’s Artist: Raised Fist Propaganda
Jeff Pliskin is a Long Beach-based photographer and music video director, and the creative force behind Raised Fist Propaganda. Rooted in reggae, hip-hop, and punk, Jeff's work is instantly recognizable — light trails, candid framing, and a documentary eye that favors real moments over posed ones. His mission is simple: capture artists at their most authentic and show the side of them most people never get to see.
Jeff's connection to this community runs deep. In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, he documented relief efforts across Long Beach and Rockaway, helping rally musicians to bring funds and generators to families who'd lost everything. That same spirit drives everything he does — a philosophy of PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) he picked up from HR of the Bad Brains, whose creative team he's proud to be part of today.

June’s Artist: Stefani Jarrett
Stefani Jarrett is a watercolorist and mixed-media painter whose work is all about movement and feeling. She grew up in Newburgh, NY in a deeply creative family—her mom painted, her dad did local musical theater, and her grandmother ran a nightclub in NYC—though she says she didn't fully realize how artistic her roots were until later in life. She picked up a paintbrush about 15 years ago when her mother handed down her watercolor supplies, and she was immediately drawn to the way water and pigment move together to create their own colors, texture, and depth. These days she's experimenting with acrylics on natural wood surfaces, leaning into the grit and texture those raw materials reveal. Her philosophy is captured in the Thoreau line she lives by—"It is not what you look at that matters, it is what you see"—and her goal is simple: to make people feel beautiful about themselves and the world around them.
